Distribution. Central tropical Africa in lowland forest, lower montane forest, relict forest in savanna, up to 1400m alt. Section Megaclinium, B.falcatum with numerous small flowers along either side of a flattened rhachis is another variable species, the variety most often seen is a deep maroon colour, the image shown is a particularly attractive coloured variety.
